JASMIN AND THE BLUE DRAGON

Once upon a time there was a little girl, Jasmine, who lived in a cave. Her only friend was a thin ray of light that came from high above and a teddy bear called Gaston. Gaston was very adventurous because he was fearless and could see in the dark. To make sure he would never get lost, Jasmine had him on a leash.
Unbeknownst to anyone, the ray of light had gradually grown wider. And Gaston was getting more and more adventurous. Jasmine, however, being a bit less comfortable with darkness, spent most of her days daydreaming in the ray of light. She never considered getting out of the cave, until one day... someone showed up at the cave's single opening.
It was a seer. She asked Jasmine why she stayed in the cave.
Jasmine: “I don’t know; well, I want to stay with Gaston and he loves it here”.
The Seer: “Since you have a leash, Gaston would have to follow you out, wouldn`t he?”
Jasmine: “I am afraid that the light will change him and that he won’t be my friend anymore.”
The Seer: “Gaston loves adventures. Don’t you think he would love to follow you wherever you go?”
So Jasmine agreed to ask Gaston to come along and he accepted. The Seer slid a ladder down and both made their way up the rungs. As Jasmine put her feet on the first rung, she felt more self-confident. When she reached the second rung, a bright white, oval disk of light appeared under her feet. It made her feel excited, uplifted and joyful. Her joy made the ladder stand up more solidly.
A few rungs higher, the leash between Jasmine and Gaston broke silently and the teddy bear fell to the depths of the cave. Jasmine gulped as if she were about to cry but realized in a flash that the leash was attached to her own heart, not to the plush animal. She thought she had loved Gaston but, in fact, unconsciously used him to hide her heart so she could go on adventures incognito, in the safety of the underworld.
As the disk of light faded, she started to feel a lot of pain in the left side of her body, especially in the arms and the hands. She almost let go.
The Seer: Jasmine, ask your body what is this pain about.
Jasmine: It hurts because I feel so sad; my mother never has time to play with me. She is so busy and worries so much about my family, the world and the stories on the news. My left arm and hand feel the most pain because even though I try to help her and use my magic, she never has fun. And it makes me really, really tired too.
The Seer: Jasmine, move the ladder under yourself as a bed to rest. Just use your intention.

Jasmine: It works! It floats in space like a hammock.

After a while, her arms felt relieved and she resolved to climb out of the cave. Her determination triggered the ladder to get upright and plant itself solidly on the ground again. When Jasmine reached the first third of the ladder, another light, much bigger, appeared suddenly this time in front of her belly. Taken by surprise, she almost fell off! That light made her feel so powerful! So much so that she turned into a beautiful, blue, flying dragon with unique markings.
She was so beautiful she could have played in the movie Avatar. Totally self-absorbed, she started doing all kinds of back-flips and other acrobatic dragon moves. Then she became aware that the dragon was not even known it was a girl dragon! Her power was in the beauty of her flight and in the subdued light spots on the soft velvety skin of her underbelly.
Jasmine was so exhausted after the transformation that she could no longer move or stand straight.

The Seer: Look for the best spot on Samyukta's body to rest.

You see, Jasmine had a protector and that is me, a part of her has kept growing up while she was hiding our heart; the part that was always staying in the cave’s single ray of light.
Since the dragon could no longer answer the Seer’s questions, she turned to me.

The Seer: Samyukta, what is this ray all about?

I had to pause, but came to the conclusion that it is the light of enlightenment.
The odd part was, I did not even know what it was until the Seer asked. OUF! Now I am the one who feels tired to the core. Dragon Jasmine is nesting close to my collar bone, moving first to the right side and then to the left. She rests there for a long while. Eventually, I get restless while she starts developing an interest in her triple clawed talons. My movement gets her flying again but she is so tired that she soon lands… in my throat!
At that moment, a magnificent, large, golden egg also appears in my throat. Within a second Jasmine decides to settle in the egg and shuts the top without a crack to show. The magic doesn’t stop there. A Mary Poppin-like handbag erupts from my lower spine and gobbles up the golden egg. The dragon now feels totally safe and falls into a deep sleep.

I cry because I suddenly become aware that my power is in my words, because they show what is going on in my heart.
The problem is that a lot of people considered my words weird or completely crazy. Many among you probably know exactly what I mean, yes? The worst part is that a lot of people are afraid of, criticize or single out those they consider crazy. That is such a lonely feeling. Trying to fit in, we talk less and hide our heart. Right?

Fortunately, when I look at the white page on the computer or in a blank book, a flow of words start coming out as poetry or stories that show me how I truly feel. That is when a Mother Goose-like puppet shows up in my eyes, all feathers fluttered, to hide the powerful dragon!
Why? If you think that people get nervous around crazy people, try showing up as a powerful dragon! Am afraid they will try to kill my dragon or run away. Thank goodness Mother Goose looks inoffensive.
Yiiiikes! Jasmine is stirring and no longer wants Mother Goose to hide her gorgeous dragon colours. She wants to extend the full length of her wings and show up in public!!!! Should I keep my eyes open or close them tight?

AGING IS BECOMING

Title inspired by a poster created by Francine Beauregard and me for the National Advisory Council on Aging

BELOVED TEACHER

I believe in the gold
In your eyes
I believe in the love
I see in your eyes
Because from deep inside
My own eyes
You looked at me
With the kindness of the Infinite
In that mirror on the wall

No longer see fear
No longer see anger
No longer see my dear father’s face
Nor my mother’s instead of my own
In that mirror on the wall

No longer the judgments
Of self-hatred
A kinship of souls
I recognized as you smiled
In my eyes
In the mirror
That I am loved
Inside and outside the mirror

HISTORY CAN CHANGE

Can you see yourself here among the stars?

In the veins of the trees
Lay the history of my country
Their roots hold me tight
To the stability of my core.
History can change,
So will the trees
Their fruits juicier
Their seeds more eager
To grow, at a new pace
The Earth ever happy
To provide solidity
And yet she, herself, feels
Held tighter by the loving flows
Of stars’ messages to her eternity.
Call your friends. Don’t let them die.
Remind them that they belong to Me.

AYAHUASCA MESSAGE and MORE

Patience, she kept saying
Know that you know
Fear dissolved won’t come back.
Your spine is straight
Run but don’t rush
Keep your heart’s song pulsing
Come to Me, hold Me tight.

More
Magnitude is a magnet for more
Expect nothing
They’ll come to you
For more of who they are

WHERE DO I COME FROM?

Tell me, mother,
The story of the free bird
Who layed her eggs
In a soft basket of gold light.

“She trembled
But the song of the 3 frogs
Calmed her worried mind.
She folded her feathers
As she was watching her butterfly sister
In the glory of her colours.”

Tell me, mother, the story
Of your eggs hatched so long ago.
Tell me, who have I become?

“A bit of you
A bit of sky
A bit of Earth
All that matters.”

LIZARD

The Shaman and the Dreamer
Spotted you here
Undisturbed you were
Silent within your own light
Remember what you last said?
Mind your guru’s grace
No need for sound in that place
Except the rhythm of your breath
The pulse of your heart beat
Send your signal
My Space will receive
A satellite spinning the galaxies
And send their echo back
To the water to make it move
Star of David, I know
Your connection with my people
The stars who guided
The Sun’s love affair with the earth

HEALING

Falling in love with the unique beauty
Of a man who does not love himself
Is a healing process
Understanding his pain
Because have been through the same
Brought me another gift
Finding compassion
For his lies, delusions and deceptions
I understood, finally:
He blames me for something
He just can`t accept about himself
His responsibility for his suffering
Seeing all this game
Helps me realize  that, once again

I was loosing my joy, ‘cause
I couldn`t make him happy
My responsibility is to stay joyful
Against all odds
Because this gift is what people need to see
To remember their own
No longer will I let go of my joy to feel
Accepted, to earn a living, to be loved.
I know the way back
Can show them the way
But to follow me is his choice
Can`t remove his pain
T’is the door he needs.

THANK YOU MA PETITE CHÉRIE

I am not ugly, just a tad clumsy
While I learn to grow up
In self-love, self-acceptance
In my divine infinity

LA DÉESSE ACCOUCHE

Beauté, beauté
C’est pour toi que j’ai créée
Ce rêve pressant de vivre à tes côtés

Adi Shakti, Adi Shakti
Namo Namo
Serab Shakti, Namo, Namo
Pritam bakvati, namo, namo
Kundalini, mata Shakti, namo, namo

Accouche de moi déesse
À renaître je suis prête

NOT A TYPO

Have been crying often
For no reason the mind can find
Sometimes out of a gratefulness
For no reason the mind can find
Sometimes because I feel the sadness of the world
Not an emotion but as compassion
Sometimes I cry out of frustration
For not knowing. Is that the mind crying?
Mostly I cry in longing to hear the divine in me

Flow with the life force says my guru
And that’s what I want to do
Yet there is another force inside
That won’t allow the locks to open

That voice inside pleads
Hear me, hear me
The mind wants to hear, but doesn’t
Breathe, breathe, breathe
Let the pressure out and I will glow out too

Hi, hi, hi, said the voice inside
Got ya! You’re smiling now!
And I cry again for that child inside
Who still knows how to play and trick me
Into being happy and relaxed

Do you know how she did it?
Wanted to write “flow” but she created “glow”
Not a typo, oh no, a transformation
Awakening me to the present moment
Instead of focusing on the past
Hari Om darling

DEVI, DEVI

Saw you coming down
With your dark and gold dress
A twirling Indian goddess
Then you disappeared inside of me
Who are you?
Which part of me are you the mystery?

My mind wants to see you, to hear you
I plead and pray and ask to no avail
My guru says “Do what she asks”
But I don’t perceive her voice, her grace
Her guidance
Slowly my lips and my mind start smiling
Could it be that easy?
Erase the worries, the “I have to do”
Enjoy the presence of the living smile
In the muscles of your mouth
And the corners of your eye
In the air that comes through your nostrils.

Oh great Spirit
Earth, Sun, Sky and Sea
You’re inside and all around me, she sings
Am reminded of happiness
A cloud just moved to allow more sun in the house
